Admissions Policy

Phoenix Magnet Academy  provides admission to qualified domestic and international students. We are seeking engaged, innovative, and compassionate students who are eager to contribute to the ever-changing world.

We have created an Admissions Policy of conditional entry that is based on a set of prerequisites for both internal and external candidates applying to PMA Programmes.

● Students are required to demonstrate a solid academic foundation related to course choices (70% or better over the past two years).

● They embrace and embody the values and attributes of Phoenix Magnet Academy learners:

● Students must have inquiring and open minds

● Students should be physically and emotionally willing and able to participate in outdoor experiential learning activities at PMA

● They strive to be good communicators

● They are open to new academic learning and personal growth

● Students have good time-management and organizational skills

● They have an adequate level of English proficiency to participate and be successful in the learning process. See English Language Learning Support, under "Programs" one this website.

The admissions process at PMA is inclusive and encourages all students who can satisfy the prerequisites to apply. All candidates will meet with the admissions department, coordinator and/or counsellor to help ensure the PMA is the right choice for them, guide the candidate in their course selection choices and discuss any identified inclusive access arrangements that may need to be accommodated for.

Ministry of Education administration of a Group 4 independent school bond for the purpose of providing partial refunds can be a lengthy process, taking up to 40 months, and parents should not rely on partial refunds derived from this bond for any payment required before this time period (e.g. parents should not rely on the partial refund coming from the bond to pay fees at another school.

Step 6: Letter of Acceptance
